Detergent means any substance or preparation containing soaps and/or other surfactants intended for washing and cleaning processes. Detergents are made for household,  institutional or industrial purposes.

Products that are considered to be detergents: detergents for soaking, rinsing or bleaching; laundry softeners; cleansing agents, i.e. household cleaners and other cleaners for various purposes.

Before placing detergents on the market, it is mandatory to prepare a product safety data sheet in the national language and label it properly.
